Services for Joe Casey


CASEY, Patrick J. Of Worcester, Patrick J. Casey, 65, died peacefully on Tuesday morning, October 30, 2018 at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, Worcester. He was born and raised in Cambridge, the son of Catherine (Sugrue) and the late John Casey, and had lived in Worcester for over 35 years. Patrick graduated from Boston College High School with the class of 1971 and went on to study at UMass Amherst where he earned a Bachelor of Science. He met the love of his life, Candace Palley, and the couple married in 1983, before settling in Worcester. For over 20 years Patrick owned and managed Commonwealth Office Furniture in Worcester before retiring in 2012. Patrick was an avid Patriots fan and proudly embraced his Irish heritage, but what he was most passionate about was his family. He was overjoyed to be a grandfather and was looking forward to sharing his love and life's experiences with his grandsons. He will be greatly missed. Patrick is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Candace (Palley) Casey of Worcester; his mother, Catherine (Sugrue) Casey of Cambridge; his sons, Benjamin Casey and his wife, Brianne of Alexandria, VA and Alexander Casey of Brooklyn, NY; his grandsons, Harrison and Cullen Casey; his sisters, Kathleen Masucci and her husband, Richard of Winthrop, Peggy Casey-Mederios and her husband, Frank Mederios of Winthrop, and Arlene Casey of Winthrop; his brother, John Casey and his wife, Gayle of Boxford; as well as several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Patrick's life with the Casey family from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2018 at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6th at Saint Paul's Church, 29 Mount Auburn St., Cambridge. Larry Letteri



LETTERI, Laurence F. of Arlington, formerly of Cambridge. Sept. 6th, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Marguerite (Murphy). Son of the late Alexander and Bernadina Letteri. Brother of the late James and Angelo Letteri. Laurence was a WWII US Army veteran, where he received 4 Bronze Stars. He played professional baseball for the Fredricton Capitals of the Canadian Baseball League. He was a member of the Harvard University Police Dept., where he served as head of their union. Funeral from the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St. (Rt. 60, Adjacent to St. Agnes Church) Arlington, Tuesday, at 9 am. Russell Goreham, 61, of Quincy, passed away at home suddenly on Monday evening, April 30, 2018. Son of the late Edward Goreham and Shirley (Herron), he was the beloved husband of 34 years to Elizabeth (Dowling) Goreham, married at Sacred Heart Church in 1983 in Quincy, where they raised their four children; devoted father of Sarah Auger and her husband Christopher of Reading, Rebecca Goreham and her partner Heather Sharp of Marthas Vineyard, Rachel Cappadona and her husband Steve of Marlborough, and Matthew Goreham and his girlfriend Cristina LaPenna of Ft. Meyers, FL. Known as "Boss" to his loving grandchildren, the joys of his life, Wyatt Russell and Anela Leora Cappadona and Brynn Elizabeth Auger; son-in-law of Mary Dowling and the late Thomas of Quincy; brother of John Goreham and his wife Jane of Naples, FL, and the late Kevin Goreham of Medford; brother-in-law of Thomas Dowling and his wife Chris of Plymouth, Michael Dowling and Dan Hurley of South Boston, and Mary and Bob Newcomb of Quincy; uncle of John and Jacqueline Goreham, Bobby, Molly, Colleen, and Megan Newcomb, and Glendon Barnes; great-uncle of Ian and Max Goreham and Kiera Barnes. Russell was a 1975 graduate of St. Mary's High School in Cambridge and went on to attend Boston State College. He worked for nearly 30 years at Northeastern University. Russell enjoyed coaching his daughters' basketball teams, watching his son play baseball, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. He was especially good at humoring Beth by dressing the part for various theme parties over the years. His greatest joy came from being a dad and a grandfather. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Russ' life on Sunday, May 6, from 4-8 p.m. at the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy.
